A diminutive pair of turquoise porcelain guardian lion foo dog statuettes measuring 2 1/2" long, 2" wide, and standing 6 1/2" tall. The male (yang) dog's hand is resting on a ball, representing supremacy and safety, and the female (yin) dog's hand is resting on a cub, as a symbol of nurturing and the cycle of life. The bottom is impressed with Wai Ming Hong Kong" and some handwritten red numbers "#343." There is some black paint loss to one of the dog's eyes and a factory glaze miss to the tail of the female and underside of the male's arm but no cracks or repairs. The overall condition is very good.
