A brown and tan handled and lidded stoneware bean or stew pot from Monmouth Pottery of Illinois. Monmouth Pottery was formed in 1892 and was known for making utilitarian housewares. It merged into the Western Stoneware Company in 1906. The pot measures 7" tall and 8 3/4" across from handle to handle. There are some factory bubble spots and a factory glaze nick but otherwise the pot is clean, with no cracks or crazing. The condition is very good.
