Evelyn Waugh, 'Black Mischief,' published by Little, Brown and Company, first published in 1932, this copy published in 1960.
Black Mischief is a 312 page softcover measuring 7 3/4" x 5". There is some sticker residue on the front cover, foxing to the top and side edges and dampstaining to the top pages that appear to be coffee stains. The condition is fair.
With a little misguided help from some friends, black Emperor Seth attempts to modernize the kingdom of Azania, off the African coast. The result is homemade currency, a "Birth Control Gala" festival, the rightful ruler's demise at his own rather long and tiring coronation ceremonies, and a good deal more mischief from the wit of one of finest practitioners of the art of satiric fiction.Library of Congress Catalog Card Number: 77-88226
