Charles Dickens, 'A Christmas Carol,' published by The Peter Pauper Press, Mt. Vernon, New York. First Published in 1843. I am unsure when this copy was published.
A Christmas Carol is a hardcover book measuring 7 1/2" x 4 1/2". There is a 1" closed tear to the top of the dust jacket and the inside cover is price clipped. Inside, the previous owner's name is written in red into the front paste down. Sticker residue is found on the inside end paper. Otherwise, the pages are clean and crisp and the binding is tight. The condition is good.
Marley was dead, to begin with. There is no doubt whatever about that. The register of his burial was signed by the clergyman, the clerk, the undertaker, and the chief mourner. Scrooge signed it. And Scrooge's name was good upon 'Change, for anything he chose to put his hand to.
Old Marley was as dead as a door-nail.
